Corporate History

PSC originated in 1966 as the medical billing service staff for a large radiologic practice. With the firm’s success came the addition of a number of new clients in the radiology specialty. Over the years, as Chicago-area physicians found that keeping up with constantly changing government regulations and privacy and security standards was taking their focus away from patient care, many made the decision to outsource their billing management to us. Presently, we specialize in serving many physicians group practices, such as: Anesthesiology, Pathology, Radiology, and Emergency Medicine.

After nearly four decades in business, we have expanded our client roster to encompass more than 400 physicians in over 70 group practices and hospitals in the metropolitan Chicago area and collar counties. To serve this growing list of clients, the company has grown to what we are today – a staff of more than 120 professionals that is recognized as one of the premier medical billing services in the region.

Recently, PSC and AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions (AHS) announced that the two companies have combined to form one of the top 25 medical billing companies in the United States. With a common focus on hospital-based physicians including radiologists, anesthesiologists, pathologists and emergency medicine, the new company brings exciting technology for PSC clients and an expanded base of medical coding and billing experts, now nearly 300 strong. Clients of both companies are now served by one of the leading firms serving the Midwest and Northeast.
